We Will Meet Again

My sweet darling life without you now,
Have left me drowning in tears,
The thought of no longer holding you,
After loving you all those years.

My days now reek from sadness,
Laughter no longer fills our home,
I sit and dream of the memories,
And ponder if I can survive alone.

Your favourite chair and footstool,
Now appear so out of place,
Without your smile and sparkling eyes,
From your kind and gentle face.

I could almost feel the pain you endured,
While life was being sucked from your soul,
The prayers and tears I offered to God,
Were to deliver you from that darkened hole.

Yes the sun still shines and the birds do sing,
The moon and stars continue to glow,
But my eyes and heart seem oblivious now,
When it is you that my days only know.

Even though I know that you're safe in Heaven,
And are no longer engulfed with such pain,
I find myself counting the days and the nights,
When we will meet and share love once again.

Yes my sweet darling..these are my thoughts,
And I just wanted to let you know,
That even without you here by my side,
My love will continue to grow.
