Wake Me When It's Over

Wake me when it's over,
When racist accept the fact,
That they are not superior,
And will accept you if you're black.

Wake me when it's over,
When equality will finally rule,
No longer will the rich prevail,
So the poor will benefit too.

Wake me when it's over,
When bloodshed ceases to flow,
Children freely laugh and play,
World love has begun to grow.

Wake me when it's over,
When God's allowed back in class,
Not shut out by our leaders,
Who've ignored Him in the past.

Wake me when it's over,
Let me know if I've survived,
The ongoing wars of countries,
Governments and their lies.

Wake me when it's over,
Let me know how it all turned out,
Will the earth still be in existence,
Somehow I have my doubts.

No longer can I bear to see,
What man is doing to man,
The total disarray of love,
Is more than I can stand.

Wake me when it's over,
When the innocent no longer die,
'Till evil vanishes from government,
I must turn my back and cry.
