The Return Of Spring
I can barely wait till Mother Nature,
Uncovers the beauty of Spring,
When once again the flowers will bloom,
And the birds will begin to sing.
The buds on trees will uncover their heads,
And smile back at the sun's bright face,
Inhaling the warmth now given to them,
As the squirrels once again resume chase.
Heaps of snow that has covered the earth,
And hidden the green grass that sleeps,
Will now give way to warm spring showers,
Tears of joy the daffodils will weep.
When Mother Nature lifts her curtain,
Unveiling such a wondrous scene,
We open our eyes to her splendour once more,
As we awaken from a long winters dream.
Sounds of children who've long awaited,
The beckoning shouts of friends,
To come once more to join them,
And play until evening ends.
The sound and smell of fresh grass being cut,
Will soon radiate through the air,
Giving way to the treasures and beauty,
That for so long had lay buried there.
Soon will the roses and tulips break free,
From the clutches that kept them subdued,
Now being brushed by the hand of nature,
Giving them strength and a beauty renewed.
The mountains now stretch with a sigh of relief,
As they talk to the valleys below,
They whisper each name of our wildlife,
Saying take part in Mother Natures great show!
Last but not least are the streams and the brooks,
Now bubbling with laughter and glee,
The sun now casting it's reflection,
Creating mirrors for all of us to see.
