The Mystery Of A Gay Wedding The Mystery Of A Gay Wedding The day was quickly approaching, When there only son would be wed, They had often thought it unusual, And somewhat baffled at what he had said. When asked how soon they could meet the bride, He would say, "Mom and Dad please be patient", "My fiancée is being unbelievably shy, You will be pleased with the fact that you've waited"! With some hesitation they agreed not to meet, Until the very day of the wedding, Mother and Father would be so proud, Tears of joy they both would be shedding. There special day had now finally come, Mom and Dad were bubbling with pride, The day they had so long awaited, To meet their son's most beautiful bride! When they asked their son, "May we see her now"? He replied, "wait till the veil has been lifted", They sighed and said, We've waited this long", "And we are certain she'll be very gifted". Their boy had gone to such special lengths, As to honour the wishes of his Mother, He had always made the promise to her, In a white gown his bride would be covered. His parents occupied a front row seat, So as not to miss any of the action, And when the organ played, 'Here Comes The Bride', They beamed with self satisfaction! Waiting anxiously to see the face of the bride, They held their breath till the lifting of the veil, And stood smiling sweetly as the vows were read, Very soon now much happiness would prevail. They were doing just fine till the minister said, "Do you take this man to be your man"? They looked at each other in total surprise, Was there something they didn't understand!? But when the vows continued with the following words, "You may kiss the lips of your lover", The veil was lifted for Mom and Dad to see, That the bride was their best friends brother! ~valentyne~ © Home Email View Guestbook Sign Guestbook Awards Index Of Poems Banners Exchange empty
