And it came to pass just after the storm
The Lord then witnessed the
hate that was born
Yet once again the false Christians did speak
In racial
slurs toward the grief stricken weak.
There was pointing and blaming of who was at fault
True loving and
caring then screeched to a halt
The issue at hand switched to color of
skin
While God wept openly at the outpouring of sin.
The talk of so many whom I thought had God's gift
Soon brought me to
realize my thoughts were amiss
How could a Christian be so callous and
cold
While destruction lay before them that Katrina unfold.
I was shocked when my mailbox came to hold such array
The words written
in some filled my heart with dismay
The very same people who will send out
God's word
Have opened my eyes to who they really serve.
By the comments toward victims of Mississippi state
Have now only served
to renew the whites hate
At a time when slavery became a thing of the
past
There are wanna' be Christians who still want it to last.
If some had their way they'd want all blacks to drowned
Believing all
negroes in New Orleans to be prison bound
The first thing they see is God's
child with brown skin
And are gullible in thinking they're all filled with
sin.
When Jesus was crucified and nailed to the cross
We should know that His leaving would cause a great loss
For if He walked among us in this world of today
Would you all still be saying the things that you say?
I am white and have sinned just the same as you all
But I don't
understand why the blacks take the fall
Perhaps another look in our history
books today
Might serve as a reminder when whites had their way.
