Thank God For Kids
Have you ever thought and realized,
How much joy
that children bring,
Like the first time they called you Mommy,
Or the
first song they learned how to sing.
When you feel their little arms around you,
And
their lips brushing against your cheek,
Have you ever experienced such a
feeling of love?
While they pray, 'now I lay me down to sleep'.
You feel a tug at your sleeve on a hot summer
day,
And a wee voice begging for ice cream,
With eyes that look like they
lost their best friend,
Causing you to smile, and your own eyes to
beam.
And what would yards be without having a
swing,
That brings joy and laughter for our kids,
A Father gently pushing
a little boy toward the skies,
Building memories for all the things that they
did.
They look at you from eyes filled with
wonder,
As you try answering the questions they ask,
"Will God send me a
little sister or brother one day"?
"Or am I going to be the
last"?
Kids will be your friend on the days you have
none,
Always able to put smile on your face,
They seem always to have a
way of knowing,
How to bring sunshine, turning clouds into
waste.
While you watch your little girl put clothes on a
doll,
Or your little boy making sounds like a train,
Too soon you'll be
looking back on those years,
And yearn for those days once
again.
Children build memories that forever live in our
heart,
And without them no magic would there be,
Love and cherish them
with all of your might,
For too soon, there's only you, and only
me.
