Suicidal Callings

What a terrible shame about the man off our street
He was the nicest person you could ever meet
I wonder what drove him to take his own life
Leaving behind him two children and a wife.

I hear he suffered from a mental disorder
Forcing him to step over the jagged border
The voices convinced him it'd be quite alright
Saying if he crossed over, there'd be no more fight.

Understandably his parents are stricken with grief
And cannot comprehend the nature of the beast
That took their sons life and left broken hearts
Leaving unanswered questions, "Did we do our part"?

His distraught wife through tears had explained
There was never a sign that his life would be claimed
By a monster who took over his inner most thoughts
Leaving him helpless, depressed, and feeling distraught.

He had tried very hard to conceal all his pain
Believing by sharing there was nothing to gain
He had also thought he would bring others down
If he spoke of his pain and how he felt bound.

He went about life as though performing a show
The spark of the party wherever he'd go
Till finally the curtain brought an end to his act
Now the masquerade is over, he fell through the crack.

No friend or loved one should feel burdened with guilt
For it's impossible to see what the demons have built
Just know in your heart no more pain could they bare
When you arrive in Heaven, they'll be awaiting you there.
