In a society in which so many households now consist of two full time
working parents attempting to make ends meet, I feel is one of
several contributing factors as to the increase in school violence.
I feel that a child no longer has free access to discuss serious problems
that they may be experiencing in schools, amongst their friends, or just
life in general. Often times a child will return home from school feeling
angry, frustrated, and depressed, but no one is there for them to talk with.
Below, is a link which will provide you with a horrifying look at what is happening
in our schools, and some reasons why:
School Violence

Stop School Violence
The alarm went off beside his bed,
It was time to get ready for school,
His thoughts reflected to the day before,
When he was made to look like a fool.
He had tried to sleep but was deeply troubled,
At how little respect he was given,
His brain was invaded with hate through the night,
As he pondered was life worth living.
While the torment continued to rip through his mind,
He got dressed in his camouflage suit,
And unlocked his fathers prized cabinet,
To choose a weapon for which he would shoot.
His Mom and Dad had left for work,
And he stood reading the note on the table,
It said they wouldn't be home till late,
But they would talk just as soon as they were able.
He thought to himself how he wanted to share,
All the troubles he was facing in school,
But his parents weren't there to listen to him,
And he felt like a minnow in a pool.
He had sat at the school lunch table the day before,
And was tormented by the names he was called,
He was said to be the king of geeks,
But today was there day to fall!
He thought of the boy who had taunted him,
And had challenged him to a fight,
The girls who had laughed and pointed at him,
Saying they were sick at his very sight!
But today was going to be different for him,
For he was going to silence their voices,
And no longer would he face the torment from those,
Whom he felt had left him no choices.
It is now the day after the shooting took place,
Seven students and a teacher now dead,
All because demons had visited,
The mind of a neglected kids head.
Parents who do not take time for their children,
Children who do not take the time to be kind,
When society wallows in it's own destruction,
Untold violence is what you will find.
