**I should explain a little bit about this poem so you will be
able to make some sense when reading it.
This event is supposedly taking place long after our present
world and all that it contained, has been destroyed by man.
Some of our remains are being examined by the new
civilization of earth, who have followed us. This is what
they have discovered as they come upon our ruins

Loss Of The Human Race
What appeared to be remains of a mummified fool,
Were discovered beneath rubble today,
Words formed on his lips that could not be deciphered,
It's a mystery what he was attempting to say.
The expression on his face was smeared with regret ,
With eyes bulging indicating much terror,
We can only imagine the final events,
And the warnings for us to beware.
The estimated time of this creatures existence,
Takes us back more than five thousand years,
DNA studies of tissue and hair,
Shows he perished from injections of....fear.
Our history books tell us of a civilization long lost,
That was burdened with evil 'till the end,
They slaughtered one another for religion and greed,
In a world even God could not mend.
Let's begin some more testing just to see what we'll find,
Rumour has it that they all had a heart,
Shall we make the incision to find out what we'll see?
Such a mess I'm not sure where to start!
My God! I think I've found it, but it's empty inside!
But this comes as no great surprise,
Had they shown even traces of love in their heart,
They may have avoided such a horrific demise.
My own heart's now racing and I must bring to a close,
These tedious tests which we've done,
I believe I hear moans shrieking deep from within,
Saying leave me to rot in the sun.
