Just Another Day Alone
I watch the darkened castle,
Once filled with
fairy tales,
When I would visit children,
Bedtime fantasies would
prevail.
But now bedrooms are empty,
No Moms or Dads I
see,
Reading stories to their children,
No time for them or
me.
It's sad that little boys and girls,
No longer
do they hear,
The sound of magic voices,
Beckoning to draw them
near.
Instead they hear of death and war,
Play kill
games on video,
No journey with Hansel and Gretel,
Only violence on a TV
show.
Where once walked Cinderella,
Now vulnerable
children tread,
While the media write their story,
Of a missing girl found
dead.
With parents working day and night,
To keep pace
with Smith's and Jones,
While the children sit and watch TV,
Ending
another day alone.
What has ended bedtime stories,
Why are they no
longer read?
Mom's and Dad's no longer tuck,
Their dear little loved ones
in bed.
It's so easy to see the effect it has,
When
parents are no longer home,
Our children are becoming resentful,
But it's
just another day alone.
