![]() This poem was written in dedication and in memory of Heidi Reed, for her Mother Judy, her Father Paul, and Brother Scott. ![]() ![]() For Mom, Dad, & Scott Heidi you surpassed our wildest dreams, When you were born into our lives The countless memories you left with us, Are now the countless tears we cry. Not only our hearts overflowed from your love, You wove it around the life's of others, Especially the bond you had cherished the most, To Scott... your best friend and brother. How you loved the warm lazy days of summer, Chasing the sunshine to warm up your face, Standing waist deep in cool waters, Laughing as the fish made their haste! Mother nature herself does not compare, You outshine the sunset and stars, The moon itself stands pale in it's beauty, They would trade places to be who you are! For all who were blessed to know you, Could see the magic you displayed in your heart, You made certain you shared it with others, Always willing to give more than your part. Your smile was contagious and held us all hostage, Brown eyes that danced and captured our soul, Long dark hair that flowed in the summer breeze, The deepness of our love only now will you know. We glance back and recall the bright sunny days, When you appeared to find inner peace, From the walks in the woods at the back of our home, Perhaps praying world conflicts would cease. Even the kittens are sensing their great loss, Of the love and cuddling they once knew, Sadie still sits and stares at your picture, Gosh how she misses her precious jewel. And although I know you are safe in God's arms, I shall never use the word goodbye, Even the thought breaks open my heart, There is no end to the tears that I cry. ~valentyne~ © My Daughters Eyes |
