Don't Be Ashamed

What would you think if you seen a man,
Walking the streets with Bible in hand,
Would you think him weird and look away,
Wondering if he'd been "let out" that day!

Would you carry "The Book" while you're away,
Or worry about what people might say,
If they saw you reading the word of God,
Embarrassed to admit you believe in His law.

It's a well known fact and I will say,
If you're seen raising your hands to pray,
You'll be looked upon as a former "psych.",
Labelled fanatical and thought "not right"!

A book entitled How To Kill,
You could carry till the earth stood still,
No one would likely bat an eye,
No one would likely wonder why!

But when people see you with a book of love,
And know you believe in a God above,
They're apt to sneer and turn away,
Not interested in His words that day.

Would you feel uncomfortable if you were seen,
Choosing the Bible over some magazine,
Or would you simply smile and say,
I chose this Book for me today!
