Bring Back Sixteen Candles
Where do you go with your memories, The ones
that you fondly recall, Thinking of all the chums you once knew, Years
ago, but you remember them all.
A wonderful feeling to relive those days, In a
place where troubles were few, Not so now as we all feel the pain, From a
sickness that has filtered through.
I find myself struggling for fresh air to
breath, And a place to find peace of mind, But societies been gripped with
a terrible disease, That has eaten its way through mankind.
Our children are taken from beds while they
sleep, They are tortured, murdered, and raped, Little boys and girls who
know nothing but love, Candles of hope being snuffed out by
hate.
I understand history from the beginning of
time, And the path man decided to take, But I don't believe thousands of
years ago, That little children had met with such fate.
It's true that progress has brought wonderful
things, We have medicine that can now safe our life's, But evil too has
progressed leaps and bounds, And will soon bring about our
demise.
To say I am sickened by the acts of
mankind, Would be an understatement for the year, How I wish there was
hope and belief in my heart, Like those who still think peace is
near.
It is not in mans nature to live in harmony, He
will forever be reaching for a gun, Finding new ways to shake earths
foundation, From early morn to the setting of the sun.
True peace the world has not ever known, Nor
have humans to any degree, I know of only one place where that's
found, It's called Heaven where all souls are set free.
