A Safety Message For Children
As a reminder for all you children,
There is
danger lurking out on your streets,
Let me warn each and every one of
you,
Should you happen a stranger to meet.
Do not walk alone in your neighborhood,
Even
though you know families there,
Always have your eyes open for
danger,
Strange faces or vehicles be aware.
If you are asked to go on an errand,
Make sure
that you don't walk alone,
Even if the store you are going to,
Is only one
block from your home.
If your Mom or your Dad insist that you
go,
Remind them of the child who went missing,
This ten year old girl
found dead in a creek,
Because of a man to whom she did listen.
Be careful in school yards or playgrounds,
And
do not wander away from your friends,
If someone unknown approaches your
group,
Not so much as a smile should you lend.
Don't stand alone at a school bus stop,
Evil men
often drive around there,
They may stop and ask you for directions,
Or
park and just give you a stare.
When you're out shopping with all of your friends
And you notice the time getting late,
Make certain you don't leave the
mall all alone,
There's a chance you could alter your fate.
It's been proven even inside your schools,
That
your safety is never guaranteed,
And if there ever comes a day someone grabs
you,
Scream loudly so the assailant might leave.
If you live in an apartment and on your way
home,
Arrange to be met at the entrance day or night,
This will decrease
the danger of being attacked,
And very well could help save your
life.
These are only a few tips to stay safe and
alive,
There are many more things you should do,
If there's ever a time
someone covers your mouth,
Use your teeth and bite all the way
through!
