This little poem I dedicate to my Cajun Family in Rayne, Louisiana

Nothing can warm my heart like that of friendship and
love shown by strangers.

A Little Box Filled With Love

I received a parcel in my mail today,
From folks I have never met,
Filled full with Cajun surprises,
But it's the love that I won't forget.

It was a little box prepared with care,
With different mixes of rice,
Two little bottles of hot sauce,
Just to add a little spice!

When I emptied out this little box,
I realized that it still remained full,
Then my soul filled up with happiness,
As my heart strings had felt the pull.

Why had strangers shown such love,
And taken time to share with me,
They displayed what wonderful folks they are,
Spreading that Southern Hospitality.

I could never begin to empty this box,
Of the words with so much meaning,
And will forever treasure it's contents,
That has filled my heart with such beaming.

And although I write of many sad things,
Peoples actions that I don't understand,
It is this little box I received today,
Helps restore my faith in man.
